COZ I BELIEVE

I walk down the path not knowing where it will lead me ..coz I believe

I fall down ..get up..fight..fall down again.. get up..ready for the next battle..coz I believe

I see through the cruel heart and pettiness that they hide ..i still hold out a hand in friendship..coz I believe

Darkness surrounds not a person or light in sight..still I trudge on ..coz I believe

Put the kind one down and the wrong one up..still I be nice.. coz I believe

Tears and pain all gone in vain ..I still smile ..coz I believe!

I believe that the one who endeavors  will win in the end ..maybe not the battle but the hearts instead

I believe that if I hold on long enough they might give up instead

I believe that life is worth living not for oneself but for the people who care for you instead

I believe that if I continue to believe I will be able to move those mountains, walk that extra mile and fight that battle with my head held high!

Coz I believe and so should you..! :)

Rainy Days

Ever since I can remember I have always had this affinity, a sense of  extreme fascination with rain. The pitter patter of raindrops would always sound like symphony to me, the smell of the wet earth would act like a soothing perfume which made me feel rejuvenated and alive all at once. Not to forget the scenery that emerged while it rained wet lush greenery all round - everything looked beautiful, pure and so magical.

(Raining in my garden)

I don't know whether it is because of  the connection with my name Megha which means clouds or maybe it is because of the childhood memories of getting drenched in the rain when you knew you were not supposed to, jumping deliberately in all those dirty water puddles and then giggling away ..coming home to loving scoldings, hot chai and delicious pakodas. Even if you fell ill you would go back and do the same all over again if you got the chance!

Perhaps, that's what rains remind us all about ..a renewed sense of hope, a timeless extravagance that always brings happiness and contentment like no other and a reminder of those memories where you had the luxury of time and freedom to what your heart desired.

I know a lot of people who enjoy their regular indulgences like a spa or a mini holiday to recharge their batteries and rightly so while I have my  very own version of it.. I run and happily get drenched when it rains! Try it and you will not regret it ..Happy Rainy Season :)

Getting older is so much fun

When you are child you just can't wait to grow up after all it means freedom- freedom to do what the heart desires, freedom to indulge in all those exciting activities elders like to do for e.g drive/wear make up to name a few  among many others of scandalous nature which is best left to your imagination

When you reach your 20's you just want time to stop and not move an inch. You feel you are on top of the world no one can touch you, defeat you or harm you it's your time and as the tag line of a well known brand goes you want to make it large. Time though has other ideas and before you know it-  25 starts looming in front of you and you start doing everything in your power to make time slow down though it never does.

You hit your 30's and you feel you are over the hill it's all downhill from here..right actually wrong! I feel this is such an old, boring and might I add idiotic way to think. I will be reaching the brink soon and you know what I can't wait...no you heard me right I am super excited to be getting older and I hope a tad bit wiser.

Now now before you start nodding your head from left to right and saying "ya right" and thinking this girl has completely lost the plot  read on below for my reasons for believing this is the best time of my life and maybe who knows your's as well...

  • I dislike my younger days because you are always so conscious of who is watching you and what they are thinking about you. The best part about now is that  I am not even interested to know who, what and why's of the world  - it's not that I  don't care but my opinions take priority over other people's opinions about me.
  •   I eat/ wear/ read / do stuff that I want to do not what my best friend is doing or what my neighbor has suggested to my mom or what my relative thinks I should do...gosh what a relief I tell you!
  • As you become older you do become wiser and less hyper and more forgiving and less prone to making stupid mistakes because hopefully over time you have already made a couple and learnt from them.
  • My personal favorite you learn to count your blessings and be content and happy with whatever you have.
I can go on and on so I am stopping myself while I can before I turn this into thesis. Like a wise person once  said age is just a number.. I say it is and so you should  embrace it, learn from it and look forward to the next one! Bring it on.....

Satyamev Jayate

A show presently on air by Aamir Khan named as "Satyamev Jayatev" has been generating a lot of news or should I say controversy lately. While a whole lot of people are appreciating the endeavor there is another section who have been quite upfront in sharing their concern that there is nothing new about the issues that he has been raising in the show but then how come as soon as a popular celebrity gets involved the whole nation sits up and takes notice.

While activist and ordinary people have been fighting these evils since time immemorial without any support or appreciation from either the government or people like you and me ..what has changed so drastically and is this really fair? Fair that a celebrity decided to do one show and the whole nation watches with bated breadth while heaving praises on him.

Honestly I do agree that it is not fair that so many people in the past have done so much and not received due credit for the same but I have a couple of points below  that I feel are imperative and need to be considered, maybe  even give you some food for thought:

  • Our nation worships celebrities period. A poor illiterate  villager might  not be ready to listen to a sermon by an activist  but might just change his hard core opinions if his favorite actor tells him to do so. Hence shouldn't we happy that out of all actors at least one is using his power/status to make a difference?
  • Yes so he is charging a bomb for it but I for one am relieved that he is charging it for this show as compared to any other show that he could have done on television (reality/dance anyone? etc)
  • The show is definitely creating an impact and bringing to the fore front  difficult  issues which not many show hosts could have tackled and dealt with the sensitivity it required , he is doing that and more.
  • The most crucial point for me to consider that being a celebrity he is putting himself out there among the common man, raising pertinent and even scandalous issues, trying to change the perceptions, sympathizing  with the  the victims and giving them the respect that they have been denied.
I have always liked Aamir Khan in reel life but this man definitely deserves appreciation in real life as well  for what he is doing. Not because of anything else but the fact that  the issues he is raising will help save  a lot of people and hopefully undo a lot of wrong that has been done. It gives me hope when I see people like him  come forward and raise to the challenge, maybe others will take a leaf out of his book and follow his footsteps soon. All I can say is more power to him and may his tribe increase manifold because then 'my India' and 'your India' will truly be shining !

Me and Kundanji

I am so relieved finally got around to joining those damn yoga classes I have thinking about, dreaming about, writing about...you get the drift. After having putting off the inevitable for so long I had to give in after getting a rude wake up call from my uncle who said and I quote "my dear I think your cheeks look a little round than usual.. a little fuller".

One innocent comment and the damage was done I swore under my breadth and dialed the yoga instructor my boss had highly recommended to me an eternity back. Kundanji a very sweet and harmless looking fellow or so I thought, came the very next day on time and took me to task immediately.

Now you know what they say about yoga it so easy, convenient, you feel great, you look awesome ..ya right.. sure and I am Aishwarya Rai! To clear all the misconceptions and to set the record straight Yoga asans are not easy ..you have to be nimble and flexible to get it right which I was so not along with ensuring that your breathing is correct ..sigghhh. After the first class you don't feel great because every bone in your body is crying out with pain and you probably don't look awesome because you can barely walk straight let alone sit on your "A##S".

I should have guessed this was not going to be easy and the icing on the cake was kundanji's comment "Aapke chehre pe itna stress kyun hai jab aap asan karti hain, aise nahi hona chahiye". I was about to give him a befitting reply before sanity prevailed and I kept my mouth shut reminding myself that it was not the poor man's fault that he was stuck with teaching of all the people in the world "me". (Inside I was uttering all the abuses in the world that I knew, I must say that really calmed me down)

Okay Now the good part after having passed the litmus test for the first week and seeing kundanji's expression changing from concern to agitation and now I think I can see a hint of smile spread across his face when he sees me completing the postures correctly that you do get better with time. I admit as well that you actually start feeling nice, I have started walking straighter with more confidence. Of all the wonders Kundanji and I have really hit it off magnificently and I don't look forward to his classes as an one hour spent in hell any more.

Looks like  things are shaping up beautifully including me... :)

Sunday Musings

Have you ever caught yourself saying to yourself or maybe others "I am too busy", "I am too stressed", "I need to get a life" well I have and I seem to be saying this way too often to my disbelief and others disappointment.

I have this sneak suspicion that along the way to reach my goals by working literally my butt off, constantly being online or on my official email id to be "on top of things", skipping meeting a friend for lunch/coffee for the fear of missing out an important mail/work or a minute of constructive work time--I seem to have gotten disconnected with none other than well with "ME".

I thought technology was supposed to lessen the burden, help me educate myself, help me stay connected (facebook, you tube, gmail chat) , well my friend for me it does all this and more but at what cost? Is it even worth it I think sometimes? I wonder how people survived when they did not have a blackberry, did not have access to computers and mobiles..well the answer is simple they did "survive" so why can't we?.

I did a little experiment this Sunday I took time off - I went for a walk without the radio blaring in my ears, did not touch my computer until right now, tried not sending any text and calling people up did not quite succeed but at least I tried and I quite liked it. While I walked I noticed well the sky, greenery around me, children cycling, the wind blowing on my face/hair enjoyED the feeling and ya a couple walking hand in hand totally oblivious of anything and anyone ..how cute!

Since the morning I have had at least a dozen panic attacks by not checking my personal id/official id, facebook, texting etc and you know what nothing earth shattering has happened, no body died including me! So I have come to the conclusion that I will have to take time off -You know take out time to do nothing at all..lounge around..read a book..just sit on my terrace and observe everything around me -FYI one of the peaceful and calming things I can vouch for it!!

I would like to someday extend this experiment to a weekday keeping aside the worry of getting fired or beaten up or worse. In the meanwhile I think this has been one of my most relaxing Sundays and I wished to share it with someone and then realized sometimes the only person you needed was right there.. it was "ME"......

Note to myself

Went to SN with friends on Saturday...finally came to the conclusion that I share a love and hate relationship with Sarojni Nagar market(SN). For the benefit of those who do not know about this highly popular export market in South Delhi..it is like a mecca of highly affordable, trendy and latest collection of apparels and what not! See most other people or should we say girls/women are in love or swear by the international brands (Dior , Mango and zara of the world) no such problem like that with me ..Still whenever I have gone there..Looked at the colorful display..made the right noises ...ohhhh ahhhh..so coolll...totally hawwwt ...I have to my misery returned empty handed. I don't seem to understand the problem maybe need to see a doctor or quack. Anyways went to Ambience mall Gurgaon and vasant kunj and guess what spent a fortune...note to myself “go figure”.

Watched Delhi Belly.. Barrel of laughs for sure…heard a group of 2o’s something discussing the movie.. note to myself either the coming generation is way ahead of it’s time , faster and more chilled out than even ice itself or I am suddenly grown very old…waiting for the white hair to appear soon..siggghh.

Finished two books in a week “I heart Paris” and the other one I can’t seem to recall enjoyed myself to the hilt..note to myself “need to start reading more” another note to myself “ for god’s sake get over the chick lit phase” .hmmmm scratch that so whaaat atleast I am reading!

Been trying to motivate myself the whole of last week about starting a new exercise regime…bought a new swimming costume ..looks amazing on me ..downfall the price not so amazing. Result it is lying somewhere in the back of the cupboard…damn it! Also borrowed a tennis racquet from a friend..it is yet to see the light of day..Thinking about walking …note to myself “I think I am running out of options so I better move my butt ..”literally” and start doing something..anything”.

I think I write my most interesting and funny blogs when I am feeling low… ironical to say the least ..note to myself “I need to figure out another way to motivate myself to write otherwise Dude this is soo not working out”.

Note to myself “write another blog soon and soon for crying out loud means soon. Note to myself stop writing note to myself..pheeewww!

Vans and Abhay Deol come to town...

10th June,2011, the day we were launching a brand that is known world over for it's cool and fun quotient. Vans--iconic sports inspired (mostly skateboarding) footwear and apparel brand came to town and the exciting part we were the ones who bought them home. That my friends was not the only exciting bit me as in moi went back stage and got to rub shoulders (okay not literally) but had a face to face conversation with cutie Abhay Deol!!

Now I have heard a lot about starry tantrums and celebrity “nakhras” and after a long day of work was dreading to be at the receiving end. As it is the whole evening was yet to unfold including us handling him along with the press and his fans which can get quite ugly as anybody who is in PR or events will be able to tell you.

Imagine my surprise when the actor comes across as a gentlemen and a professional to the core. No hang-ups, no looking in the mirror every two minutes, no whining he just went about his job like clockwork which in turn made our lives so much easier. In the span of 45 minutes that I spent around the actor .. I was impressed!! Not because he made girls go weak in the knees and literally throw themselves at him while he patiently and politely extracted himself from them, not because he just did not stand at the stage but went right up to the audience to shake hands and click pics with teenage girls screaming out his name, not because he took time out to shake hands with the store boys and security guards but because of all that and more.

Most importantly his down to earth behaviour the way he spoke with the journalist, PR team(us), the bouncers..not once did the “actor impact” show just a normal guy going about his average day doing average work. Which in this case was not true at all as he certainly wasn’t a normal guy and his behaviour “not normal”, work would absolutely not qualify as a normal job? The event was a success with other elements of the show in itself quite exciting with performances by Vans skateboarders, Sheetal Mallar -the model and Anushka Manchanda and we returned home feeling a sense of euphoria on a job well done.

Like always I like reliving memories and introspecting, it always brings key learning and so many times a smile on my face and at other times a tear in my eye. This one time was no different –smile on my face remembering how not only teenage girls, boys but grownups could not stop themselves from clicking pics with the Actor. Learning’s-- how as I followed the actor with his swarm of bouncers and his agent with cameras and flash bulbs following us in tow it seemed like déjà a vu and I realized how difficult it must be to remain sane and grounded among such devotion, chaos , love and euphoria.

I will never in my life be a star or remotely inspire the kind of crazy love and following that Mr Deol had conjured up and quite frankly nor do I even aspire to but I do hope that a few people take a leaf out of his book. No matter how big, important and powerful you become the important quality that will always shine through is how humane and humble you remain. Hmmmm a little profound thought but on a lighter vein he came, he smiled that cute dimpled smile of his, he conquered and he left… leaving me with only one thought …maybe I should have gotten a picture clicked with him when I had the chance ……doesn’t matter there is always a next time * wink wink*

LUXURY....

This word has been torturing me for the past one month and I finally thought what the hell just write about the damn thing and get it over with. Abusing this word can have almost disastrous consequences since most of my clients breathe and live in this bubble every day of their lives and most importantly my pay check comes from here Dude!

So we have luxury brands, we have luxury food , luxury apparel, luxury malls and for India the next buzz word is.. you guessed it "LUXURY". I mean it almost seems like that if you are seen buying or indulging with something which does not spell luxury "God save you" you are just not with it worse still your future looks gloomy verrry gloomy ..ok I do tend to exaggerate a bit not that gloomy but you got my drift right!

Any which ways if you have it ..flaunt it and it better spell and look luxury if the latest Indian's fascination or obsession is anything to go by. For me it just well sort of irritates me ..I was reading an article in Fortune magazine which said India's tryst with the luxury bubble is not new, is not a fad and is very much here to stay(help me god) because to begin with it has always been here..Maharajahs and their fine Maharanis would always have the Louis Vuitton collection as part of their trousseau. Yes can you believe that...our Maharajahs would get specially ordered jewelery from Cartier's.

It seems we have come a full circle ...as most things in life do ..I am not happy about it ..for the life of me why should I be "I can't afford the bubble " or maybe the bubble doesn't appeal to me because I feel it comes at a price. You reach that level and baby you aint coming back!! It is only up and up but beyond a point where will you go. That is why I like to stick to basic things not to say that if someone gifts me a Louis Vuitton bag I wont take it(ya ya Megha u keep dreaming) but I find happiness at the most unlikely places. I mean it is luxury when I see the whole family laughing and eating together considering all of us are working. I think it is luxury when I can catch those 10 extra minutes before I need to jump out of the bed. It is luxury when i get to eat that whole bar of chocolate without feeling guilty.

Seems like my definition of luxury is quite screwed but hey this is what makes me happy.I am sure the people who indulge in what I would like to refer to is the "bubble" are actually after the very same sentiment "happiness". To each it's own I always say though I won't mind running an experiment here at this point of time..
Let someone gift me a Cartier or maybe a Dior and let me see what happens..the ecstasy ..the joy ..I also want to experience it. So are there any noble and kind souls who will help me in my experiment by gifting me the "bubble"..any takers...any body..somebody????

Thank You Life..!!

Few people have the pleasure of saying this but my work place is like 15-20 odd minutes away from my house...see I said it ;). Normally I love to walk down to office and back coz lets face it that's the only exercise that I am getting these days and god only knows whether this is helping or not. On the odd day I don't feel like walking or I am sinfully late I like to take the cycle rickshaw(and no I am absolutely not embarrassed like some people are about admitting this one ..I love the cycle rickshaw rides..it's fun people!).

Three weeks back I ran out of my house..late again..praying that I could find a rickshaw asap..that's when I saw him ..standing between 3-4 rickshawalas ..chatting away to glory..this young boy about 5 feet nothing. He looked like a child among all those burly men..filthy,grubby ..looked like he had not had a bath in weeks maybe months..skinny like hell..don't know why as I ran up to this group thanking my lucky stars ..my eyes seemed to notice only him.Thankfully his eyes seemed to be the only ones noticing my plight as one by one they all refused to take me.

Maybe it was the desperate look in my eyes or maybe he took pity on me as he said..mein leke chalta hoon na madam ..kahan jana hai. As I gave him directions to my destination I felt a little guilty..he was a child after all and if I was not so extravagantly late I would have never taken him..the words child labor kept coming in my mind. I don't know why but there were more things that I kept noticing about him as the wind whipped past us in a frenzy ..his face darkened with filth and muck, a mischievous smile played on his face like a little adorable monkey and his teeth were white shining like stars on a dark night..can you Imagine!

As we passed a corner, a delicious aroma of fresh samosas being fried struck my nose and so did his..he gave a hungry look at the samosa and quickly glanced away..Come to think of it,I don't know why it had skipped my notice that he looked kinda hungry and weak.I don't know what came into my head at that moment but I made him stop the ricksha ..got down and bought some of the samosas..it smelled divine. Since I was anyway's a minute away from my workplace I decided to walk but before that I went up to him and held out the packet towards him..Guess what he did..it shocked me as he shook his head smiling all the while as he said "nahi nahi rehene dejiye"! There he was this little chap refusing the very samosa's he had been drooling over a minute ago. I felt a strange tug at my heart and my throat suddenly seemed so constrained..I managed to croak .."Le lo garam hai...thanda ho jayega". I thrust the packet literally in his hands as I walked away..for some strange reason my eyes felt moist ...I felt a pair of twinkling eyes staring at my back ..I couldn't muster the courage to look back at him.

That day seemed to pass away in a daze quickly.. it was no different than any other day except that I felt somewhat happy ,contended and thankful towards my life. I learnt a very hard lesson that day ..a lesson that I am hoping will be like a talisman for my coming days ahead..days when I feel frustrated and I feel like giving up..days when I feel like a looser and I crib and I rave and I rant ..I hope that I can look back on that day and remind my self how fortunate and blessed my life truly is! :)

You know u always keep reading about this phrase "Always count your blessings" that day I think I did and I had so many things to be thankful about, that it could fill books. You don't have to have a supremely amazing life to be happy.. you just need to take a look around at people ..the sweeper on the road, the beggar at the red light, the child selling books on the pavement.

So many things to be thankful about...your life might not be great but remember it's not that bad either....

Delhi Winters

As I write this curled up in my supremely warm blanket with the blower in my room switched on full blast I feel well cozy, toasty, wonderful and glad that I am in and not outside as I watch the mist swirling about through my window. Anybody who has been through the Delhi winters knows it can be merciless think ice cold water in the morning, think cold air that hits you in the face with so much force that it just takes your breath away, cold hands and cold feet...real pain in the butt I tell you!

Delhi winter is all that mentioned above but the opposite is also true, it also signifies beautiful misty mornings(in case u don't have to get up very early u will actually find it quite scenic)and evenings, those endless cups of tea and coffee u actually have an excuse to have more and then some more. Cold weather also means think carts selling hot hot popcorn, tasty peanuts, crispy bread pakodas yummmmmm (ok feeling hungry now yikes!)

It absolutely also means think sexy looking boots, amazing trench coats, gorgeous sweaters and jackets, pretty knitted skirts, bright colored tights and you know what that means think hole in your pocket, think bankruptcy...phewww!

Delhi winters one of my favorite seasons and the best part is I can't stand cold at all and by at all I do mean at all!! Think Megha plus winters ..think Megha covered head to toe..think Megha wearing two sweaters, one jacket, woolen cap and socks and I would be probably still be shivering...brrrr but the fact of the matter is "I STILL ADORE DELHI WINTERS"! what to do such is the life deary..you lose some but you win so much more.... <3 <3

Back with a bang...!!

You always think that you are gonna inculcate one good habit in life and stick with it then "wam bam" guess what happens ...life..it catches up with you ..spins you around and then spits you out with a nice and loud burp.urmphhh!! So here I am back again..back to take control of my life ..back to that one good habit I thought I was not going to let go of.. beat life at it's own game minus the burps..

A lot has happened in the meanwhile ..I have gotten older ..wiser perhaps(I hope)..I have been trying to broaden my fashion sense(dunno if I have any to start with )..bought my first sari..worn it and clicked loads of embarrassing pics in it...reinstated my belief that good and thoughtful people are much needed in life and you can never have enough of them.

Anyways my tryst with sari was not half as bad as I expected and I have survived with not a scar but certain level of confidence and awe of this beautiful garment. Hoping some body's getting married soon and I get a chance again to go shopping for a pretty "Sari" at least this time I wont be hyperventilating in front of the salesman like I did earlier..He must have thought im crazy or something. Far from truth my dear friends just very confused surrounded by nine yards ... unfamiliar territory you see!

Ahh before I forget the fashion bit ..been reading a lot of them(fashion magazines)lately and feel they should tone down the "jing bang" a bit ..when I read them feels like they are not really for an Indian audience but an audience they would aspire to be ..European ..french...I don't know what about aspire to being Indian..??
Food for thought...!

Obsessions

I never really thought I was the kind of girl who would obsess over things easily but here I was siting on a Sunday afternoon and thinking about random stuff like what clothes I should wear tomorrow at work or I should have bought that white pair of heels when I had the chance...occupational hazards of working in a Public Relations firm dominated by gals. It's kinda of funny because these are normally not the things that occupy my mind, which does prove what I have been thinking all along that it does not matter where you are from, how are you because eventually you do start getting moulded into whatever environment you spend your maximum time.

I also learned that those killer pair of heels can give you so much confidence that you can take on the world if you have to!! How the word "sale" has the capability of driving even the most sensible women in this world into a frenzy and compel them to resort to tactics just to lay their hands on that one pair of heels that in another situation they wouldn't even dreaming of buying otherwise.

OOOps seems I am obsessed and that too about shopping .."I guess I am changing don't know whether for the good or worse" though I do wish my back balance would not change so much ..at the start of the month it's high and by the end of the month it's so low you begin to cry. Anyways gonna head towards the Almirah and do some clothes searching..hope it is not as difficult as soul searching. Hmmmm have to find time for that as well..both are very important you see!! specially the latter.. ;)

ZARA

Zara the Spanish high street fashion brand finally got launched with much fanfare this Friday at select city walk. Nothing extraordinary about this since we have been witnessing an influx of luxury brands and fashion labels opening shop one after the other here in India.

In fact it has been barely two days since the store has opened and people seems to be going ballistic...when I went on Sunday evening to the store there was barely enough space to keep your foot inside let alone check the collection. It seems as though new India has suddenly woken up and that too with a huge appetite. It's no big high tech secret that Indians love to shop but this kind of passion for big brands is extremely exhilarating and kind of scary.

Don't get me wrong I love the fact that with the economy opening up and what with the new middle class working it's way up there is more money than ever to spend. You go on a weekend to any mall and the sight that greets you is utter chaos with men and women literally battling it out at the stores(not for the faint hearted mind you). I have recently been introduced to this new world of shopaholics and it is new learning everyday...Spanish brands ..Italian brands..Upcoming fashion designers..latest trends...phewwww.

While all this is going on the only thing that sort of disturbs me is where does that leave Indian brands..the way we lap up all these foreign brands..do they also go crazy when an Indian brand opens outside. The answer to this sadly as I believe to the best of my knowledge is that there is still not an Indian brand which can command such a hysteria as other foreign labels here are able to. I know for a fact that even though a lot of people out side recognize a Rohit Ball or a Manish Arora collection there is still not a single Indian brand that is as popular as compared to some of the brands that are here. Solutions I can provide since it is always easier to talk and give advise rather than do it yourself but hey at least I am trying ... So maybe Bollywood should kinda curb its habit of going bonkers with western outfits..maybe our fashion designers need to promote more of the India fashion line or maybe even for that matter we as a nation should stop this absurd obsession with fashion brands..I don't know but these our just random thoughts. I have always believed in going for the middle path and having a balance approach to any kind of situation, so maybe we can continue our love affair with the foreign labels entering India but we should start a new love affair with our own kind as well as the saying goes "Old is definitely Gold".

PS Megha herself likes to wear both western and traditional outfits...western makes her feel she looks hot and while wearing traditional she feels she looks pretty and no Megha is not obsessed about herself she is talking about the looks these outfits generate and not herself as such ...and oh oh most importantly since she could not shop at ZARA she shopped at M & S today and blew almost four grand , she has just promised herself that the next thing that she buys has to be Indian ..be it Indian jewelery..Indian clothes or Indian food..she also believes that at this rate she will become completely bankrupt soon.

Happy Feet for Mother's Day

I have always liked the concept of mother's ..father's..dog's day even though I do believe that the whole thing is nothing but another marketing propaganda to sell a brand.Coz let's face it we all say that one day is not enough we should celebrate all days but who does that.. not me for sure.

Anyways so with mother's day falling on Sunday I decided to celebrate the day with my mom by pampering her. I thought to myself why not surprise her..do something innovative..well the thought led me to take my mom out for a session of Fish pedicure at Happy Feet(Select city walk).

Fish pedicure or better known as doctor fish is quite interesting.. they put our feet in a large vessel containing about 200 fishes mind you special fishes. The fishes set to work immediately, they start nibbling at your feet removing the dead skin. No need to worry they do not have any teeth and the experience though a little daunting in the beginning can be a whole lot ticklish as well according to this Punjabi lady right before it was our turn to get in.

Well here I was trying to coax my mom to put her feet in the vessel with her squirming and I trying to retain my calm and composure as a whole lot of people watched expectantly.Eventually the helpers there came to my rescue by simply pushing her feet in the water not forcefully but a little firmly. A little scream went up in the air and for a minute there I though that the fish had actually bit her though the next minute the sight had not only me in splits but the whole audience there as well. There was my mom giggling like a little schoolgirl since she was feeling very ticklish as well as weird..in her defense as she puts it I'm vegetarian for god's sake off course I'll feel peculiar.

In about 5 minutes though you could see from her face that she was actually enjoying, as I watched bewitched at the sight of my mom's feet being nibbled by so many tiny fishes. The whole experience as she puts it was quite intimidating but relaxing as well. Her feet actually looked quite clean and pretty and felt soft just as how the helper had described.

"They help to open up the pores mam you must try it" said the helper there as I smiled at him with a painful expression.
Well mom enjoyed it..the people gathered there enjoyed the show..I'm thinking the fishes must have also enjoyed it.So maybe just maybe I should try it out as well ..hmmm maybe I will but just hope that the next time that I go, I have less of an audience as compared to my mom!!

OMG sky bue heels

I indulged myself today and if you know me well enough you would know it's something which is really not part of my DNA.I mean nothing wrong with it it's just that you can say that I am a very conservative shopper. I rarely like to use either my creativity or my money or even act too impulsively when it come too shopping.

Lately thought things are changing big time and the reason being- me working at a place which is full of fashionable or highly creatively inclined people, you could say it is starting to come with being in the territory.

So the first casualty being today is that I went ahead and bought my self these really cool sky blue platform heels ...ahhhhhh yes I behaved impulsively, stupidly ..etc etc.
I have no idea whatsoever of what I am going to pair it with, the only thing that I do know is that it cost me a bomb and man do they look hot on me!!

This blog is also being written with the main intention of relieving me of my guilt of indulging the side of me which did exist but I was too used to pretending it did not.

Showed it too my father whose first words out of the mouth along with the facial expression suggested that it would have been much better to leave the heels at the store itself rather than me storing it at my place.Mom's expression- what the hell were you thinking of...anyways the deed as they has been done,no use crying over it. I have better ways of spending my time by contemplating how do I match those god forsaken heels with any of the tops or colors that I have.

I am open (desperate) to ideas..suggestions welcome???

I support India

So let's begin with me saying exactly how I feel about the whole SHIV SENA ban SRK movie campaign business-I have three words "I am appalled".
I mean these guys get worse day by day if it's not enough that there are terrorist organizations, religious fanatics and other lunatics out there to divide and plunder India then you can trust these guys to do the needful.

A party who wants to hold on it's former long lost glory by raising issues and dwelling on a high profile Actor's choice of words which is then taken to be as a insult to the whole of Mumbai is just way beyond my understanding.
The worst part is that this is not happening for the first time. Time and Again this insanity has been played every time with the same result -we bowing down to hooligans and goondas.

I am going to stop right here by not mentioning them in my further conversation least they get any more chances of publicity through this blog or if they decide that I have in any way been disrespectful to the whole of Mumbai for which I should be punished.

As you can make out while writing this blog even I was hesitant so when a person like SRK stands up for what he said and does not make excuses or goes out of his way to apologize for having said what he intended to say. It gives me hope, that maybe the time has come that instead of we accusing people from outside trying to disrupt communal harmony we are also able to catch culprits sitting in our very own land and bring them to justice.

I am not a fan of SRK never have been, actually more fond of Salman and Amir Khan still would like to support him on this that any cricketer belonging to any religion, caste or creed if he is good enough should be allowed to play in IPL.
I support talent rather than religion, I stand for justice as compared to what is socially acceptable . I stand for India..do you??

Week's musing

Hectic..crazy like a roller coaster ride but wow man what a adrenal rush has this week been. Running all over Pragiti Maidan from one end to another might not be your ideal dream sequence but a great cardio workout out for sure. So here is me and colleagues trying to get work done while missing out on sharukh khan, vivek oberoi because well work always comes before pleasure and so the saying goes.

Was speaking to a senior journalist from Business Standard and the one thing that he said made my heart not only skip a beat but also swell with pride. He said"I have been to many international Auto Expo's but this clearly is not only Asia's biggest but the world's biggest Auto Expo.

Met up with some nice journalist ..tried networking..ate a lot..walked a whole lot!! Sure it could have been better organized actually it could have been much better organized but what the hell I always look at that one bright spot. They were many like while having lunch me and colleagues ate pizza from pizza hut and saw these firangi's bang opposite us having chole bature..cute!

ALL's well that ends well, finished with work plan to catch the Auto Expo as a tourist finally before it ends.Want to check out some cool cars and bikes not babes and want to say "you see this ..this is what we are capable of ..India is the future" as I overheard someone saying and boy I couldn't agree with him more.

PS:Liked the viral campaign going around for breast cancer awareness, dont think it spreads much awareness though but what it does spread is beautiful smiles all around.

Surround Yourself with people who care.

My mother used to always say surround yourself with good people, people who are positive in their outlook, people who care for others, people who will inspire you to do good and be good themselves... etc etc . As I grow older my belief in these statements increases day by day. I have been in an environment where people have been downright mean, bitchy and negative and I thought to myself welll people are like this only... so what!! You survive..right!!
Well I did, for some time at least but something just dint feel right. Inside I felt cold, unhappy and for some reason angry all the time. Then.. what my mom said came back to me and I left that place to take up another job. Here there was a drastic change people were sweet, treated you with respect and actually cared about what you said. Now my mother says I make too much noise when I return home(coz I'm singing all the time and it just doesn't help that I sound like a crow), she says there is a certain twinkle in m eyes(why don't the guys notice it..sighh! I wonder is it true, can people really have so much of impact in our lives. Can people who are positive and funny and maddeningly sweet really make you feel "so happy" and people who are "rude and negative" make you feel "so sad". In my case funnily it does.. that is why I always try to be around people who might not be the most brilliant people on the planet but are intelligent enough to not hurt anyone with their words. People who don't have to be nice to you but make that little effort to do so. Do such people exist..hee they do.. you just have to find them. The search but first should begin within you.. you have to caring and sweet and nice and all that jazz then probably you will start attracting all these people. As the law of nature states "what goes around comes around" and the law of my mom says you do good and you will start attracting good...hee it's true!!

Wake up Sid..my verdict

Okie so I watched wake up Sid really and truly enjoyed and no they are not paying me for writing this(I wish they were..Sighhhh) . A movie which according to me was not only about Sid waking but also Aisha waking up hmm confused dont be let me explain.

See we go through life thinking that this is what we want but many a times it's not what we want we just think that it is. For example we all think that we want a partner who is intelligent, has a good career, sophisticated, mature... in the real sense a real man... that’s what we all are conditioned to believe or automatically do believe.

Well thats what Aisha believed she wanted, a man not a boy but then you never know when life or the cupid will strike and she realized she wanted a boy as well. Someone with whom she could be independent yet depend on in tough times..Someone who was not perfect but in his imperfection there was some amount of perfection..lol

A person she thought should learn from her how to lead a life but in turn she learnt how life is truly meant to be lived..hmm interesting is it not,he learns how not to let go and she learns that sometimes it is better to let go.

Atleast for me the movie meant not only wake up Sid but also wake up Aisha..hee hee Well made, subtle ,intelligent, realiastic and overall a very beautifully handled subject of a mature love story ..need I go on..

No I think not, will not go on further and bore you but my verdict is out(like anybody cares) I LIKE IT and hope you did to . If you haven’t caught the flick catch it baby what you are waiting for ..your own Sid or Aisha to come along or what???
